SAF-T 1.40

Prepare Norwegian SAF-T Financial 1.40 before 2027.

The Norwegian Tax Administration states that 1.40 becomes the only valid version from 1 January 2027. A reliable migration requires more than an XSD pass.

SourceDocuments is outside 1.40 and is therefore an error in this profile. The Tax Administration is separately developing SAF-T Financial 2.0 ↗, which Saftlint does not currently support.

Test the complete export contract

  1. XML structure, namespace, order and types against the 1.40 XSD.
  2. Master-data references for accounts, customers, suppliers, owners and tax codes.
  3. Official VAT and account-grouping mappings for the relevant year.
  4. Entry count, debit and credit totals, and transaction balance.
  5. Dates and accounting periods against SelectionCriteria.

Official submission and regression testing serve different purposes

The Norwegian Tax Administration states that its test submission service is currently closed while a replacement is developed. Saftlint can be used now, but does not replace any submission or approval by the Tax Administration.
