About Saftlint
Saftlint is an independent developer tool for testing Norwegian SAF-T Financial. It is developed and operated by Flakstad Software AS.
What we build
The core product is a native CLI that runs locally or in CI without telemetry, sign-in or uploading accounting data. The web validator is a bounded demonstration that uses the same engine, XSD and ruleset.
How the test reference is developed
- Official versioned SAF-T sources are registered with date, version and checksum.
- Each supported requirement is reviewed for applicability, ambiguity and false-positive risk.
- Each semantic rule receives a stable rule ID, documented source, and synthetic passing and failing fixtures.
- Observable rule behaviour changes only in a new versioned ruleset.
- Conflicting official sources are recorded and handled conservatively until resolved.
Inspect the public rule catalogue, source-conflict register and changelog.
What a result means
Saftlint can establish which supported structural and internal semantic checks a file passes or violates. It does not determine whether the bookkeeping or tax treatment is correct, whether every legal duty has been met, or whether the Norwegian Tax Administration will accept a submission.
Supported profiles
SAF-T Financial 1.30 receives profile detection and XSD validation. Version 1.40 additionally receives the documented semantic ruleset. Results for the two profiles are therefore not semantically equivalent.
Privacy and operation
Local CLI runs send no SAF-T data to Saftlint. The web validator processes an upload temporarily and does not retain raw XML or findings after the request. Read the complete privacy description.
